Reinventing Teaching of History..

An innovative and conscientious teacher, Dr Arun Kumar Sharma is presently working in Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh. In all, he has over 27 years of teaching experience as lecturer in different schools of Chandigarh including Government Model Senior Secondary Schools, Sector 16 and 35 Chandigarh. He has been instrumental for developing innovative methods of teaching History at 10+1 and 10+2 levels during his stay in the present school. He was the Project Coordinator of the school team which won two National Level NCERT Innovative Awards for the years 2011 and 2015. The institution in which he is presently teaching awarded cash prizes of Rs 20,000/- twice due to his strategic thinking and planning of teaching the students. His articles and papers have been published in The Tribune, Indian Express, The Times of India and in different state and national level journals of repute. Winner of Saboo Award for Excellence in Teaching and BOLT Award, Dr Arun Sharma also visited Singapore as an ambassador of Air India.
In near future, he has a comprehensive plan to arrange lectures and seminars on different topics of educational and historical importance for the parents, teachers and students of grade 6 to 10 and, 11 to 12. He also intends to organise counselling sessions and interaction programmes for the deprived sections of the students in order to motivate them for joining schools.

Over 37 articles and research papers have already appeared in the research journals and magazines brought out by different national and state level professional organizations and leading newspapers such as The Tribune & Chandigarh Newsline. Most of the articles published cover current problems of school education and topics of historical importance. More than 60 letters have also appeared through the columns of Editor's Mail of the local newspapers
